Added Scientific’s Ultra High Vacuum chamber featured on Season 2 of The Cool Parts Show

After catching their attention with our “AM at the heart of Quantum Technologies” display on our Added Scientific stand at Formnext 2019, Stephanie Hendrixson and Pete Zelinski from The Cool Parts Show wanted to discuss our additively manufactured, ultra high vacuum capable vacuum chamber design in more detail.

Senior Design Engineer, Laurence Coles took some time out to explain the design decisions behind incorporating the complex lattice work and the steps needed to characterise a 3D printed alloy for such an advanced application.

The Cool Parts Show is the YouTube series from Additive Manufacturing Media. Also including Additive Manufacturing magazine, and the annual Additive Manufacturing Conference, Additive Manufacturing Media is devoted to industrial applications of 3D printing technology, focusing on the ways manufacturers are using this technology to make tooling, moulds, functional prototypes and end-use production parts in a range of industry sectors.

If you have an application that requires an ultra high vacuum environment and you think it could be optimised using a custom additive manufactured part, Added Scientific would love to hear from you – get in touch using
